I met someone today that had a Windecker shirt and knew something of Dr. Windecker and it's early years. Here with a search I found a prop made with Kevlar, which is a different story for me from my own about carbon fiber composites. I spoke to the discoverer of Kevlar at Dupont way back when I bought a spool from Edmund Scientific about 1980 or so. His comment was "It's gossamer." My carbon fiber story begins with boron fiber in a magazine called Space & Aeronautics as the quest for a cheaper basic fiber also looked at vacuum bagging for curing. I had hoped he was an EAA member.
