The internet was showing how Solidworks 2020-2021 student version users were having this problem, so I thought I would post a solution I found here. Go to https://forum.solidworks.com/thread/201429 and look for posting by Andrian Ju. He wrote that he changed the background and that is what worked for me after re-installing the software four times!
