We bought a neat little rig - it's a medium-sized cooler with a fan imbedded in the top.

Fill it with a bag of ice, and it pumps out cool air for 4-5 hours. Enough to get you to sleep.... Runs on a cigarette lighter cord. Don't know where she bought it.
