EAA Museum Curator Ron Twellman is retiring. We held a small retirement gathering for Ron this morning to commemorate his 27 years of service to the organization. Ron was hired as a contract writer in 1989 working on text for the museum's Eagle Hangar as it was being constructed. He joined EAA as the curator shortly thereafter. Ron led the development of the museum's collections database and inventory system that tracks hundreds of thousands of objects and he has painstakingly taken care of each and every one of them. Ron helped lead the charge in getting the museum accredited by the American Association of Museums (now American Alliance of Museums) - making the EAA museum one of the first accredited aviation museums in the nation. I can say with complete conviction that Ron has truly been the "Advocate for the Artifact" all these years.

He has been a fantastic mentor to me and a true friend!
