The Continental A65 is a great little engine, but the vast majority of them have to be hand-propped. This limits their appeal to a lot of folks, and puts a lot of great little airplanes out of their reach.

Over the years, several folks have developed add-on starters for these engines. A man in British Columbia has developed a kit that's very reasonably priced... about $1100 US. I've put together a web page with more information.

The design is not TSO'd, and thus can't be used on a certified airplane like a Cub or Champ. But it'd be just fine on a Baby Ace, Fly Baby, Pietenpol, etc. It's similar in concept to the Hamp starter, although a bit simpler.
