    Interesting. There isn't any diagonal bracing in the cockpit area.

    RV's don't have diagonal bracing there. The skins take care of it.

    My best learned conjecture is either a Mustang II taper wings and tail mated to a 2 seat tandem prototype fuselage or Nexus Mustang which is part Mustang 2 and part Mustang 1 by Dick Eaves...

    That cockpit doesn't look very comfortable but maybe that's just me.
