    Workshop Questions

    Hi there!

I got my invitation mail for the Jan 28-29 Homebuilder's Workshop, and I was wondering if anyone had insight for classes I should attend. I'm not planning on staying the whole time but I'm a beginner and I just want something fun to do for a weekend.

Which Workshop? Do you mean the Sonex workshop or those given by EAA in various places? If Sonex: call them; they're not far from you!

If you are talking about the Sportair workshops each class is an all weekend event, expect to spend 8 hours Saturday & 6-8 hours on Sunday depending on which class you are taking.

You really can't go wrong with any of the workshops. (Disclaimer: I work at EAA but took my first workshop before coming to work at EAA). If you are leaning towards a certain type of construction, then i would say start there. Otherwise, just pick one. I'd leave avionics for later. Gas welding tends to fill up fast as it is not available at all our locations and class size is the smallest. Hope to see you there.
