The Passing of Another EAA Pilot

I m told of the passing of Woodson Woods, of Carefree Az. Woody was an early and long time warbird pilot who developed the resort and golf club with its own private airport at Carefree , just north of Phoenix. Its the first place I ever had a Spitfire flight with Jerry Billings, RCAF pilot from the Malta days who flew both Cliff Robertson's Mk IX, but also Woody"s MK IX and XVI. He is survived by among others, his Son Chris Woods. Chris arranged a fly some years ago with 6 Spits and a Hurricane starting at Carefree and moving to Scottsdale. We had some good times together, one year Chris and I flew side by side from Colorado to Oshkosh.
