We've read for years about volunteers showing up and camping months ahead of Convention in order to help everything get ready.

I got to thinking: What about AFTER the event? Do the same large number of volunteers hang around to dismantle their areas? How about scrounging up all of the AV equipment from the forums? All of the supplies, etc., from the workshop areas? I know a lot of the buildings remain in place over the winter, but as an example, do they park all the VW bugs and do nothing until the next spring?

I know the exhibitors are responsible for tear down of their outdoors locations, whether by themselves or via convention contractors. We put so much prep into PRE-convention activities like mowing, the kitchens, etc., I can only imagine how much POST activity there is and for how long....
