I use the tie-downs I purchased from the EAA at the N40 shack that rented them for $10 with option to buy for $15 back in '03. A big heavy hammer work best driving these into the ground. Sorry, no pics and I don't know if they're still available for purchase.

Oshkosh soils are generally hard enough (except in the wettest of years) that nearly anything will hold. I'd avoid the corkscrew style dog anchors as I've seen these break. I've used over the years the swingset anchor type, the Claw, Storm Force, T-shaped pieces of rebar (this is what we have down at the Vintage for rental I think).

EAA Chapter 444 still rents/sells tie downs for the N40. The tie down sales shack is still in place. Proceeds go to supporting the chapter which is not a bad thing.

Does anyone know the times for the Cessna, Cherokee and Beech mass arrivals on Saturday or Sunday?

It's been scheduled for 7:30AM Sunday the last two years, although weather delayed both.
