Looking for information of Aeronca champ NC83525 in Fairbanks Alaska in 1951

    Hello,
My dad was stationed in Alaska with the Army in 1951 and took civilian flight training from Fred McGuire in a traditional yellow and red Aeronca Champ NC83525. He soloed on May 27th, 1951. I was wondering if anyone on this forum might have information on this airplane? The N number is currently associated with the B-17 Suzy Q in a status of "storage" and the N number being linked to the serial number 44-83525.

I have great respect to all warbirds but my focus on any history available of the Aeronca my dad soloed in.

Unfortunately my dad passed away eight years ago but we celebrated his 67th, and my 30th, solo anniversary on may 27th this year.

Attached is the rc airplane my dad built hanging in my hangar

    Thanks,
    Jim Owens
