Not everyone knows that Eric Clutton was part of the “team” behind Wayne Ison in creating the TEAM MiniMax series of ultralights and light planes. A young and spry Eric adds some of his usual humor and philosophy at about 3:10 and 5:58 in this late 1980s (?) video segment on ultralight flying that also features EAA founder Paul Poberezny.

I miss seeing Eric (often with his pet bird perched on his shoulder) at the monthly breakfasts at Winchester and Shelbyville, TN. I engaged him in conversation one time and it was quite the experience. I recall the last time I saw him depart in his FRED and that homely little plane really climbed nicely out of the pattern.

At 90, Eric himself says his flying days are over, but I am sure he'd appreciate you stopping by to chat about airplanes whenever you're in Tullahoma! You can find his address and phone number here: http://cluttonfred.info/plansbooks#.WvA0-Ojwbrc
