Thread: is there a composite E - LSA?

    is there a composite E - LSA?

I've been without a project for some time; with a good workspace in the new house, I'm ready to dive into something.

At 56, I have a clean medical but I still want to want to go LSA. I've worked on projects in fabric, aluminum and even some woodworking. I am comfortable with tailwheel configurations, and I'm instrument rated but don't need IFR in this airplane. Also, I have an IO-360 on the shelf, and that has some weight in the decision.

The RV-12 is darn interesting, but before I commit I'd like to know if there are any composite LSA-qualified kits. Any suggestions?

Check out Jabira USA (Tenn) and Pipistrel USA (FL). As for the Pipistrel, If you are up to picking up a glider qual, you could build a Pipistrel as either E-LSA or a motor glider and cruise at 147 KTS.

Pipistrel is a _great_ idea! I've solo'ed sailplanes, and it was terrific. I'll read up on them and probably visit (I'm in Tampa). Regards, PK
