    Taxing with skis

Years ago I purchased some Federal 1500A skis for my Cessna 140A. However, they plow the taxiway and runway too quickly to use straight skis. Without spending the 5K+ for wheel penetration skis (Trickair), I was thinking of building / buying ski dolly's but am not certain if you can taxi on them as the usable grass median is about a 1000 + feet from my hanger.

A guy at work asked if I could help him build something like this for his C-180: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MbRpkT5-a0

If you get it sorted out, fly over here to Clarklake. I occasionally see a Cub land on the lake with straight skis.
