Heard this from a reliable source: the rumors that CAMit has closed their doors. Forthose who don't know, CAMit is the company that Jabiru contracts to make theirengines--that's right, Jabiru doesn't (or didn't) actually make Jab engines.CAMit did. CAMit also made their own engines, which were very similar but notidentical to the Jabs.

Alas, this rumor is true. CAMit has turned the lights off. I don't know ifthey go into fire sale mode or if they're in a re-org procedure. It's a hugedrag, as the owner of CAMit, Ian Bent, is a really, really good guy and apleasure to know and work with.

By all accounts Jabiru will land on their feet. Part of the hassle betweenCAMit and Jab had been that Jab was beginning to change their sourcing frombeing solely CAMit to a broader base of suppliers, so they have more than onepipeline.

This won't shake the entire industry by any means, but it's a bit ofinformation that is sadly true and worth knowing for those who pay attention tothe power plant side of things.
