January update: We have now taken control of the former website from the long absent creator who was sitting on it and not communicating with the chapter. We forced the host to give it back to chapter control. I suspect we will have it back online this month. In the mean time we are updating the FB and EAA hosted site. This year's schedule of activities is very full.
Current Projects in various states of progress and momentum :
    BD-4
    RV-8
    Montgomery Glider Replica
    Onex
    Fisher FP-202
    Sonex
    Stinson renovation
    C150 renovation

Jim also keep in mind if you have an event coming up and you're looking to promote it to your local community so you can grow your chapter, we may be able to help you find other EAA members near you. If you're interested, shoot me an email. ecernjar@eaa.org

    Thanks,

Thanks Eric. I have seen more new names from EAA staff in the last 6 months !!!
Chapter had a very successful Mothers Day breakfast - we opted for made to order omelettes - IT WAS A HIT. We had 3 stations set up and 8 fillings with salsa and green chilies for toppers. This really blew away the 50 year history of 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 bacon strips and 2 Oz of juice. Yawn !
Adding this for the next 2 months and maybe the new norm. Moved the price to $7.00

There's more......... Chapter has been involved with a regional charter aviation middle highschool - we spent the day mentoring 11 students building the Vans Special - Toolbox. Everyone was able to complete the build. Objective - fall starting an RV-12 build over the next year. Encouraging them to form their own EAA chapter. Another session is in the works for June working with foster kids in group home.

Even more.......Chapter joined the annual Aviation Awareness Day at the capitol. California aviation groups gathered to support awareness of aviation in the state. This was aimed at staffers and legislators but was open to the public. Smaller space due to lawn replacement didn't stop the cruising through the tent. Several youth education programs were present as well as local colleges including Embree-Riddle. http://www.erau.edu/

But wait....there is more.. At the end of every school year teachers and students are "done". Local elementary school asked me to come in and give an Aviation Awareness activity. In 2 1/2 hours a 4th grade class covered aviation overview, occupations in aviation and highlighted the UAS/private space programs and then we took a cross country flight from Sacramento to Colorado Springs with break out groups of Communications, navigation, risk management/human factors, weather and logistics. Each station had tasks and used available STEM techniques to complete their assignments. We then debriefed to see if the flight was indeed going to happen and the decision making needed to evaluate. I have been asked to do two more classes. This was a multimedia program with video clips, some stills, posters on the wall, a populated panel for a single seat aircraft, propeller, and head set. Each student took home: SA magazine, YE program flyer, local YE info to support family outing, a pathways to aviation fold out from ASA and a booklet from AOPA.
To answer the original poster.....Yes C 52 is very much alive.
