    Wanted 162 for FSX

Looking for an accurate 162 Skycatcher for FSX. Seem to be a lot of old versions you can buy, but I don't want to waist my money if they don't work...

Unfortunately they do not offer a 162.

    Goggles Payware available

    Wallda,

    Got some ideas for you.

Note - Not FSX Steam edition compatible. Most likely just the installer? If so there are ways around that.

I gave up on ABACUS aircraft releases many moons ago. The price is right though.

Not sure about this one. Never really heard of the company & the screenshots look an awful lot like the ABACUS version except for added paints. (pirated??)

Here are some reviews that may help in your decision -

Looked all over at the sim sites/repositories but couldn't find anything freeware.
Myself would pick the Flight1, try it.. They have a 30 day refund policy, which is nice.

I have also looked desperately for a good C162 add-on. I found Flight1 and have been using it, but wish I could find a different one. Frankly, the Flight1 edition models the real thing fairly well. But alas it is plagued with technical problems. Firstly, it works with only FSX, it will not work with P3D. Additionally, FSX crashes 1 of every 2 times while flying in the Flight1 Skycatcher. I finally found settings that minimized the system crashes, now I use FSX for only the C162. If I ever want to fly anything else I now use P3D; switching between the C162 and any other plane, or moving it to a different airport is a sure way of crashing the system. Incidentally, I have a top of the line 'gamer' system, so the problems do not lie with my PC system. Finally, Flight1 uses some 'schemish security system, in which they tap into your system every time you use the Skycatcher, I suspect it's their way to verifying that you're a legitimate user. But frankly, it's kinda creepy and I dont care much for it, but you have to allow it or you wont be able to use it. I had to make an exception for it with my antivirus, which was going nuts warning me about it. I've reached out to other add-on providers, like A2A and Carenado, nearly pleading with them to design the Skycatcher. Unfortunately, I've only received template responses. Bottom line, Flight1 is a fairly accurate model, but is plagued with technical problems.

    Hi Jndz,

Years ago when I was actively simming, I remember having a problem with mainly just one of the aircraft I had bought and downloaded. Unlike the other airplane models I had, this particular one set off my Antivirus right off the bat and almost wouldn't let me download it. Even after downloading and installing it continued to give me crashing and freezing problems while my other aircraft were trouble free. I did a virus scan on it but that came out negative. Then I decided to turn of the antivirus altogether, wallah! For some reason my antivirus did not like that download and never stopped screwing with it while I tried to use it in the game.

Just curious, did you try turning off your antivirus?
