    Need an engineer

I have the skill, equipment, and desire to build a 4 place, high performance composite kit plane. I have two autoclaves, machine shop and everything else needed. Plenty of resources and everything thing needed except one small detail. I need and engineer capable and willing to go in on such a project. If it's on paper I can build it. Unfortunately I don't have the knowledge to get it on paper. So...

    ^^^^ I second http://www.homebuiltairplanes.com.

But I have to ask. Why do you want to reinvent the wheel? There are four seat kits out there already. A few off the top of my head are the Foxtrot, Lancair and Velocity. If you don't mind aluminum, there's the RV-10.

This thread might get you started on choices.http://www.homebuiltairplanes.com/fo...composite.html

Of course, if you simply just want to design your own plane, that's cool too. Some guy named Burt did something similar way back when. I heard he did pretty good with his very easy design.
Someday I'll come up with something profound to put here.

Indyjet, Cozy MK-IV, Lancair Evolution, Several CompAir models, what is your fancy? I second the comment about not reinventing the wheel. If the Cozy isn't fast enough, look for some info on Chris Esselstyn's Cozy 540, N540EZ. It is fast and sweet and he did quite a bit of engineering to make it all work well!

Better yet, find someone else also itching to build and who doesn't have all your skills and equipment. Either become partners or do two airplanes. Or both.

    Let me explain

Ok, maybe just dreaming a little here? Let me explain where I’m coming from. First of all I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel. I’ve been dreaming of building a lancair for years. It seems as I get older and more financially able to peruse such a dream, the dream get’s more out of reach with the crazy costs of building a homebuilt aircraft. I’ve always been a fan of the iv-p and now the evolution has taken over. The problem is the cost has gone far from what I believe a homebuilt should or could be. So comes the thought...what if I had a worthy comparable design combined with my recourses experience and enthusiasm.... I truly believe it could be done at a fraction of the cost and make it affordable and possible for many others like myself.

Bigger dreams have been built on less. Good luck with it all.

If you really want to pursue this, don't let the naysayers get you down.
