Turnbuckle hardware query
Any reason not to mix a long turnbuckle barrel with short turnbuckle end pieces? The AC43 really doesn't specifically address this. If I can meet thread requirements (3 max external of the barrel body and not close to bottomed out against each other within the barrel) and no interference issues with a longer barrel, I don't see any logical reason why this would not be acceptable practice. My reason for asking is that I need another inch or so of cable length for my rudder cable runs and replacing a short turnbuckle barrel with a long barrel might save me from buying cable and re-rigging/swaging my current two cable runs. Appreciate any and all thoughts on the matter. Hope the question is clear...

I don't see a problem doing that.

I see it on certified planes I work on. As long as you can meet AC 43 specs. I don t see a problem
