    Battery question

I was grubbing through my shop today and found a "new" Gill G35 lead acid battery. The acid container (still full) was sitting next to it. Acid was never added. About ten years ago, My Beech was in my T-hangar when a hurricane came through. Tore up half the airport, and all of the south facing hangars. Mine was facing south. Total write off. Bless Avemco for coming through. A week latter, this new battery was delivered and was stuffed into the shop. My question is: Is this battery still good? I have an Odessey in my current project and don't need this Gill. Or does this go to the recycle pile?Bob

Batteries are shipped dry charged. As long as no acid was added, will still be good to go. If acid has never been open, it last a long time. check to see if there is a "use by" date on it.Bill l
