WW II military medal, "Keep em flying", & headlines December 8 1941

I just got back from an auction where I bought 8 WW II military medals, seemingly new in boxes from the U.S. mint. One has red white & blue cloth with a rectangular brass thing at top, with a smaller piece below in cloisinnae "Keep em flying", and a P 47? below. (Perhaps this one is not Military issue?)

I got other U.S. medals with "Asiatic theater" and some european, African, occupation force in Germany, etc.

I also got a bunch of newspapers, one Washington Times Herald from december 8 1941 with headlines "US declares war on Japan, Japs kill 1500 in Hawaii"

    followed by

    "lindberg silent on Japanese attack"

Dutch planes aid British at Singapore"

"Naval war in full swing on Pacific"

One page shows C 47's? at Hickam field.

    Pic of General Macarthur.

And much more. Some thought provoking reading for sure.

I also bought one model plane, like a Piper Cub maybe, with about an 8' wingspan. No motor though. It will be a nice static display. Even got a huge, very old book " The Confederate Soldiers in the civil war 1861-1865" by Major-General Fitzhugh Lee, published 1895. So much to go through. Thanks, Henry
