Gyroplane record attempt
FYI for anyone who may be interested in gyroplanes, a couple of Texas pilots have set out to establish a world speed record for an experimental two-seat, open-cockpit gyroplane over a recognized course. The attempt, sanctioned and monitored by the National Aeronautic Association, has three legs, including a transcontinental trek from the west coast to the east.
The two pilots are flying a Magni M-16 gyroplane, which is similar to the red Magni M-22 pictured in the upper right of the collection of four gyroplanes on the cover of the book below.
There's a website for the record attempt at http://www.gyrotrips.com (see the link "Capraro-Dabbs World Record") and a link there to follow their flight track.
