American Fighter Aces received the Congressional Gold Medal

The official ceremony awarding the Congressional Gold Medal to America's surviving fighter aces concluded shortly before 3pm CST today. Since WW1, there have been 1,447 aces from all services. There are 75 still with us. Brig. Gen. (USAF Ret.) Steve Ritchie is the youngest at age 72. EAA has been fortunate to preserve the memories of a few of those men via our Timeless Voices of Aviation oral history program. If you are so inclined, have a watch here:
