    Gere Sport teaser

From Evan Belworthy, well known in the Clutton FRED world as the owner/builder of Clutton FRED ZK-FRD, here is a teaser photo of his newly-completed Gere Sport biplane taxiing in from its maiden flight in New Zealand. I have no other info yet, more to come. Cheers, Matthew

Another tidbit from Evan, "The Gere Sport is also planned to fly again this week, looking forward to finding out the performance figures. The engine is a Toyota Hilux 4Y 2.2 litre."

She looks like a sweetheart - hopefully Mr. Belworthy will release more pictures and details!

I'm also interested, especially in Evan's Toyota conversion. He chose one from the 70's, perhaps to avoid the electronics, emission controls, etc.

Evan said he'd be submitting an article and pics to the SAANZ (New Zealand EAA) so I'll pass on whatever he sends me. I suspect you are right about the choice of an older auto engine. Cheers, Matthew
