    Abandoned & Little-Known Airfields website

Do you ever wonder what happened to the old airport where you learned to fly? The "Abandoned & Little-Known Airfields" website, at www.airfields-freeman.com, is a free historical archive of pictures & description of 1,876 former airfields, in all 50 states & territories.
Meigs Field, Glendale Grand Central Air Terminal, Flushing Airport, and many others lavishly documented. Visit www.airfields-freeman.com to see them all!

I found this site when I was putting together an article on Ghost Airports. It's a fascinating site, and I spent far too long there, lost browsing through pages of great information. Highly recommended.

Paul, I have to tell you your site has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid, although I hope you don't mind that my current job involves in part keeping airports off your list!

Well Tom that sums up why I run www.airfields-freeman.com... by showing pilots how many GA airports we've already lost, I hope to encourage them to support the airports we still have. Good luck in your airport advocacy work!

The site was a great tour of the forgotten past. Hopefully we can fight to keep other airports from ending up on the site as the forgotten past.
