    Fabric Removal

    Hi Guys

I've seen a lot of post's and information online about re covering aircraft with fabric, sadly I am not this far with my rebuild project and next week I will be stripping the damaged wings of their Fabric I'd really appreciate some advice on the best way to do this without damaging ribs ect ?

    Any help gratefully received

    Jack

I would start by cutting away the large pieces in between the structure, then peel off the rest. As long as you are reasonably careful, you shouldn't destroy any of the ribs. The peel strength of dope isn't all that great, and it can be softened with acetone or MEK (or the "MEK substitute" that seems to have replaced it).

IMHO, Before getting busy cutting, i would also recommend taking pictures or mapping out where access panels are or need to be. Saves some headaches later when trying to figure out where you need to put panels. (been there, done that)
