i am not displeased with this engine. . the germans tell me the Berlin Builds are superior to the italian and canadian ones. .
this one is an 83, i am unsure if that means an berlin or no.
i do not think they ever got this thing to run. splices in the magneto circuit are suspect/broken. there was a big glob of clear ?rtv? on delving into it i revealed cracked insulation and arc marks. . buggerd up magneto pick off is in interference with the rotor.
goofy french slide carb 's bowl shows no sign of fuel .
i wonder if a little skinners union carb might not work better . or a bing , i know about SU carbs though
the original Konigs rate at 28 hp , the compact radials at 24 hp.
ac 103-7 +seems+ to indicate a probable airspeed of 45 knts at 20 hp. extrapolation of the power curve chart on the 4 cyc one might guess 20 hp at 28-32 hundred rpm , maybe.
these konigs are supposed to be quite quiet . and at 3 K rpm might well have a nice engine note.
the Hirth F33 on the other hand is off the shelf proven in service dual ignition . little screamer , i am quite out off by the engine song of these high winding single cylinders.
1983 engine , 1980's air frame ..
not aan EAA member around would not like to see this 4 cylinder 2 stroke Konig on a B-10 well built
i think i will really enjoy the wing build , i have fond memories of building wings , just a 12 foot balsa, i expect spruce to be nicer to work with.
positive enforcement feed back is a ++ plus up
