Do the 500' and 1000' minimum altitude limitations apply to ultralight (FAR 103) aircraft?

The rules on creating a hazard or endangering persons and property apply. But the 500' and 1000' minimum altitudes are likely to be used as a standard if a complaint is filed. So don't draw complaints.

Since UL's can not over fly homes or people myself I would say yes. stay 500' from people and homes. The 1000' altitudes does not apply. The biggest draw to an UL is flying low and slow. But this low slow flying does not happen over homes or people but over country sides, corn fields and such.

Here we do not even over fly homes when landing or takeoff. Not in an Ultralight. Most fields are big enough to stay within the runway range when taking off and landing. These things only need a few hundred feet for both take off and landings.

Like I told a couple who live down the street from my airfield. I want to be a good neighbor.
