Camp activities
I am looking for aviation based camp activities for 8th graders. The time allowed would be 2 hours per day for 5 days. Some ideas I have include:
1. Model rocket build and launch
2. Garbage bag hot air balloon and launch
3. Build a model rib, helicopter toy (e.g. Kid venture)
4. Build and fly a balsa model
5. Candy drop (I own a cessna 140a) over the lake and the kids can recover from canoes - calculating wind direction etc.
6. Young eagle rides with parent permission after camp.
My brother is the incoming president of a Michigan overnight camp and we began talking about airplanes. I am looking for more novel ideas to make the program interesting. I would volunteer for one week at the camp for two hours.
Thanks,
Daniel

I'd go with the model rocket build/launch. It's affordable, I believe you can get the package deals for large group events, and their cool to launch and recover.
