    Jodel D.11 (aka D11, D-11)

    Hi.

New here. Dreamer, not builder so far.

What do you all think of building a Jodel D11 with converted Corvair engine (nominally 100hp)? Are there any particular things to watch out for with either the D11 or the Corvair engine or the combination? What about build difficulty and build time? Also, source for plans?

    Thanks.

Falconar was a source for plans. Unfortunately they are going out of business this month. The website also states that the rights for all Jodel plans are “sale pending”.
The corvair engine is a good automotive alternative. Keep your engine placement correct for W&B purposes. Build it correctly, use good parts - don’t cheap out.
The Jodel wing spar has that outer wing dihedral that makes construction more challenging. Also believe that the D11 is a one piece wing, could be wrong on that, but it’s something you should check out...shop space, handling logistics, etc.

Starting a Jodel D11 sky princess variant. A Corsair engine is on my list. Charlie Kenny flies his Jodel with a Peugeot diesel. Check eurodiesel on you tube.
