    Ed Bowlin Passing

I just saw a news report of the passing of Ed Bowlin. He is a longtime EAA and warbird member, often flying with his wife Connie in P-51s.
When I first came into warbirds about 30 years ago, I went to the Sun N Fun show at Lakeland, Florida. I was welcomed by Ed and asked to do a formation photo flight with he, Connie and another Mustang. While in cruise Ed asked if it was ok with me for him to come over the top and I said, "sure, just don't hit me" and Ed did a very nice barrel roll all the way around, Looking up at a Mustang inverted above you is a cool view.
Ed was a nice guy and fine pilot., and he let his flying speak for himself.
I'll miss him, 79 is too young to be leaving.

I met a few times at Oshkosh and Breckenridge (TX). Several old Air Guard guys around here knew him too.
