    Registration format

I've read the FAA requirements for registration number placement, (horizontal, vertical, not at an angle) but I still have a question. When the registration numbers Nxxxxx will be horizontal on the rudder, can they be formatted on more than one line?

    Such as

    N
    xxxxx

    or

    Nxx
    xxx

    Thanks,

    Louie

    I had

    NC
    33903

on my Taylorcraft, and I've seen it that way on other aircraft, too.

I don't think you can split the number onto two lines, though.

    Thanks Dana. It's a start.

It's all in part 45. I suspect the requirement for uniform spacing bars multiple lines. If your aircraft is such that it is impossible to label using the part 45 rules, you can apply for FAA approval of an alternate scheme.
