That thing looks like heavy lawn ornament.
I am not sure about this but it is a plane that will race in the jet race at Reno and built as a prop plane but new rules canceled the project, so now in the jet class. Built in San Diego, CA, by Mr Rose? http://www.barnstormers.com/eFLYER/2...angeRules.html

I think a jet conversion is a good idea. That thing just screams "prop strike"
