Seth: Never been in to Stagecoach, but know Propwash and AeroValley ( Northwest Regional) quite well. I hang out at Propwash and live about 5 miles away. I was based on Northwest for about 12 years, but have everything at home right now. Meeting at Hicks is this Wednesday night, hope you can make it.

    Craig,

Thanks for the details.. I get off work at 7:00 so I may not be able to make it.. However is there a chapter newsletter that I can subscribe to about upcoming events and get togethers?

    Thanks!

Is Flying S still there? An old buddy of mine was friends with Jess, the retired AA Captain that owned it back in the early 1990s. I got to fly his Ercoupe and go for a ride in his Staggerwing. He also had a GeeBee replica he was slowly working on.

AirNav shows that it is still there and owned by Jess. Flying S is just east of Propwash: http://www.airnav.com/airport/3TX2

Oh yes. Jess. His son owns it now I believe. But he is huge into RC Airplanes so he uses it as a RC field. I haven't seen any full scale activity out there in a long time.

Well, at least they aren't building houses on it! I know that the Staggerwing had been moved on, it had an accident a few years back. I looked up the N-number in my logbook when I saw the report. Sad. I've never looked up the Ercoupe, I think he had a Luscombe sitting there too back then. Jess was still teaching at the AA Academy back then in the DC-10. Flew the sim with Jess also, my buddy was a sim tech there.
