    Unfortunate

    Witnesses said they heard logs fall to the ground before a rotor separated from the helicopter,
    Sounds like there was nothing he could have done to save it at that point. Wonder if the whole rotor separated or just one blade.

    In a previous career, I supplied helicopters & helicopter parts to several loggers. The accident rate for these pilots was shocking. Accidents like these were all too common. I would loose several customers each year to accidents like these. If you have ever seen it done, you can see how they are stressing the aircraft to its maximum at all times. The Bell UH-1 (204-205) are amazing machines, but even they have their limits. R.I.P...
