Verner Motors from the Czech Republic has been around for quite some time:

  • Their 35 hp, 71 lb JCV 360 flat twin goes for about $4400 ($5400 w/EFI) and looks ideal for a small single-seater.
  • Their 83 hp, 143 lb VM 133MK flat twin goes for about $10,100 ($11,700 w/EFI) and seems like a significiantly cheaper alternative to an 80 hp Rotax 912.
  • Plus, they have some very interesting small radials from 25 hp up to 80 hp in development, which is very exciting for me to hear given my love of early light aircraft.

There is a real shortange of affordable four-stroke engines out there, but you don't hear much about Verner or see many of their motors even in Europe. Does anyone have any experience with any of these motors and/or the company to share?
