"Thunder Birds" trailer - spectacular full-color flying scenes from 1942

This movie came up in conversation this morning, and I stumbled across this faux trailer - no (original) audio unfortunately, but beautiful shots of Stearmans, BT-13s, and T-6s. And Gene Tierney.

It inspired me to finally replace my muddy old VHS copy with a DVD.

Hmm... next year will be the 70th anniversary of the film's release. Fly-In theater, anyone?

Hey Hal, you forgot one plane in your list...

Boeing Model 100 - It's the one that dropped the flight suit to the poor towel-less lass. Probably Mantz's N873H, that plane was in a lot of movies of the time.

Nice flying stunts, but... who's the young beautiful lady?
