"Thunder Birds" trailer - spectacular full-color flying scenes from 1942

This movie came up in conversation this morning, and I stumbled across this faux trailer - no (original) audio unfortunately, but beautiful shots of Stearmans, BT-13s, and T-6s. And Gene Tierney.

It inspired me to finally replace my muddy old VHS copy with a DVD.

Hmm... next year will be the 70th anniversary of the film's release. Fly-In theater, anyone?

Hey Hal, you forgot one plane in your list...

Boeing Model 100 - It's the one that dropped the flight suit to the poor towel-less lass. Probably Mantz's N873H, that plane was in a lot of movies of the time.

Oh yes, I've seen. She passed away 20 years ago. I just gave a look on Google and Wikipedia. Very nice and sexy woman and a great career on the stage and in the movies. I've also read about her health problems. Very sad.

    She was beautiful!

What sort of flippy, floppy spin was that trainer doing?
