wing stagger on my Acrosport 2.

After mounting the wings and completing the rigging on my Acrosport 2, I find the right lower wing has a 1/2 inch more stagger, measured at the I strut than the left wing. What is the probable cause and what is the cure? paulhutch

If you go look at some other airplanes, you will likely find similar conditions. What it likely means is that one of the attach fittings at the fuselage is maybe 1/16" off, maybe less. Out at the "I" strut a little offset at the wing attach bolt hole goes a long way. Or maybe the drag and/or anti-drag wires in one or more wing bays are not adjusted to perfectly square an inboard wing bay. Small things add up.

I will suggest that you won't notice that difference in dimension when you fly the airplane. There are larger forces involved when you adjust the trim.

    Best of luck,

    Wes

Thanks Wes, I rechecked the bays on the lower right wing and found the bay to need adjustment. Hopefully this will take care of my problem. paulhutch
