    2013 Local Fly-In

If you have an Event or Fly-in happening in your state for 2013, post it here so other locals may find you.

    Isn't that redundant to http://www.eaa.org/calendar ?
A list would be difficult to find anything. You would have to know what you're searching for once it gets long.
Right now, besides the EAA page, our events are posted to The Atlantic Flyer, AOPA event calendar, AeroVents.com, FunPlacesToFly.com, FlyIns.com, SocialFlight.com, and our own email event distribution list.

There will be a month-long spot landing contest at KAUW, the Wausau Downtown Airport in Wausau, Wisconsin. It is a charity event with a cash prize. Participants pay two dollars to have a landing judged, with one buck going toward a pot that will be the grand prize, and the other dollar going to a local food pantry. Judges will observe the landings for one hour every morning that weather permits. Anyone is welcome. Questions? Call John at Wausau Flying Service, 715-845-3400. In addition to the cash prize, the winner will have his or her name engraved on a trophy displayed at the FBO.

The 24th Annual Father's Day Fly In at Shreveport North (62PA) (14-16 June 2013) welcomes any aircraft capable of operating from a well maintained, lighted 70x2600 foot turf runway. On the grounds of the Footlight Ranch, the Fly In features an all you can eat Prime Rib Dinner on Friday, provided, this year, by the Dillsburg American Legion. Activities include a parade of Sports Cars, pilot games, Bear-from-the-Air stuffed animal drop, and airplane rides. Snacks and lunch are available all weekend at the Crosswinds Cafe on the flight line, again provided by the American Legion. Flightline movies with free popcorn every night. The Olympic size swimming pool, volley ball courts and horseshoe pits are available to all attendees. Camping and rustic bunkhouse available. http://www.footlightranch.com or http://www.mdsfclub20.com For additional info call Jerry Rosie at 717-243-7923
