Just read the news article that says a helicopter parking area is going to be placed near show center, between the HAI tent and the flightline (http://www.airventure.org/news/2013/...elicenter.html). I like the idea of bringing them closer to the show, but I guess I always thought that the helicopters were placed near the ultralight area and the Pioneer Airport because of the rotor-wash.
I suppose they could land them across the taxi-way and then wheel them into the parking area, but all of the ground-handling wheels that I have dealt with were pretty small and I wouldn't think they would work very well on grass.
