    Installing BNC Connectors

I've posted a brief tutorial on how to install BNC connectors on co-axial cable at:

    http://www.bowersflybaby.com/tech/bnc.html

Corrections and suggestions would be appreciated....

    Ron,
That's a good tutorial. However I've found that unless my "B" length was wider than you listed I'd get a ground error (this was with RG400 and a Garmin GTN 650). Anyway, using Bob Nuckoll's (author of the AeroElectric Connection) tutorial as a guide, I went with A= 1/4", B=1/8", and C=1/8" and that fixed my issues. I used that same coax cutter and a razor blade to make to strip the layers as required.

Thanks, Todd. I did an image search and found a close-up photo that seems to match your dimensions. I'll update the page to mention this ratio as well.

Also, was the "ground error" you mention a direct short to ground, or some sort of issue regarding proximity instead of direct contact?

    Ron,
I'm not real sure, but my guess is a direct short to ground.
