Will you take $100 monthly payments through January 2046? Sounds like a lovely bird....wish I could afford her.
Unfortunately in science what you believe is irrelevant.

Wish I could. I need to sell it and go light sport as it seems the EAA and AOPA have lost focus on the 3 rd class medical exemption. My 3rd class medical expires next month,oh well, time to move on.

Sorry to hear that you're selling the J-5, but I have to ask - what makes you think we've lost focus? We just posted an update about a week ago.

Joel, the ball is in the FAA's court now on the medical petition, which is why you probably have not heard much out of us on it over the last few months. There is not much to report during this review process unfortunately. We have made the best case possible and now the FAA by law cannot comment to us while they consider our petition. That said, we have absolutely NOT lost focus on the issue, and continue to apply pressure where appropriate. In addition, we are currently in the midst of an effort to reform the special issuance system in a way that would benefit all pilots, not just those who would fall under the exemption. I promise that as soon as we have news to report on either of these you'll hear about it.

We should get regular updates from EAA on the exemption request - even if it is "no news." Up until about 2 weeks ago when I started a thread on the subject in Hangar Talk, we hadn't seen any updates (at least I hadn't) since the public comment period closed more than 3 months ago. You guys may be regularly monitoring the progress with the FAA, but if we don't know you are monitoring it, we are left to guess what's happening.
