Big Grin Cool Stuff on the Ramp at MHV

Had lunch with a friend and colleague at Voyager Cafe at MHV this afternoon (I am onsite supporting a space tourism client) and saw several aircraft of note on the ramp.

First was Mike Melvill's beautiful long-range Long-EZ, second was Peter Garrison's Melmoth 2, and lastly the second of 2 747-400's that are acting as organ donors for the massive StratoLauncher launch vehicle.

I remember Peter's articles describing the design and build of Melmoth and I recall like I assume a bunch of other people, holding my breath as Mike Melvill became the world's first private/commercial astronaut.

    Very Cool day!

Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're right.

Did you see Kermit while you were there? He's been out at Mojave for a few days now.
