    Sad AirVenture Pins

As I returned to my car after a great day at AirVenture and now trying to negotiate my way out of the place (see my previous post) I noticed that my 2004 and 2005 AirVenture pins had fallen off my cap.

I really need to have these pins in my collection and I am looking for anyone that has them that would like to sell them to me.

Again I am looking desperately for the white 2004 and 2005 EAA AirVenture round pins.

If anyone knows of anyone or anyplace that I can get them, I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks

    Mark - Chicago

Mark - I just checked with Marge, our director of Retail Operations, on this and she got your request earlier today and the search is on!

    Looking for a 2003 pin

I was wondering if there was round white pin for year 2003? My buddy and I went that year but the only pin we could find was a rectangular gold pin. I've heard that one answer is that they ran out early, another is that they didn't even have a white round pin that year. Do you know the correct answer. Every year we've gone we've tried to find the 2003 pin with no luck. I sure would love to pick up two of them from somewhere; One for each of us.

    Thanks

Side questions and not to take off track but we bought some items this year at Airventure and found that when we got home at the end of the day in the bottom of the bag was a round white 2012 airventure pin. One do you automatically get one when you buy something and it sounds like these are a yearly pin?

    AV pins

Yup every year. At AV you'll see the hardcore attendees have caps covered with them. I think you got a deal! I had to pay a whoppin' 3 bucks or so for mine. :0)

Has anyone noticed that the cost has went up 300% in the last 5 years or so? My hat is getting heavy too, so may have to curtail my pins or just wear old ones.
No matter how far you push the envelope; its still stationary!

Lost pins on way to Oshkosh this year

I lost my hat on my first leg to Oshkosh this year. I was part of the Cubs 2 Osh group that flew to OSH from Hartford. We flew up from Houston, TX. On my first leg I lost my hat with my four Oshkosh pins 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. I was able to get a replacement for the 2010 pin at the store that sells previous years' merchandise, but I'm trying to get replacement 2008, 2009, and 2011 pins in the round white style. They didn't have those.

If anyone has any extra pins(2008, 2009, 2011), or any leads on where I can get them , please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Hal,
First off, I appologize for writing this email to you as EAA has graciously sent me a 2004 and 2005 pin in the past.
Now however, after having my car detailed, again, the 2005 and now 2011 pins are missing.

I have taken them down from my car and put them in a safer place, but if there is anyway you can find a 2004 or 2011 pin, I would greatly appreciate it.

    I can pay for them.

Maybe I can meet you on Aug 1 at AV when the THUNDERBIRDS fly.

On a side note, sometimes those pesky little pin backs come loose and fall off, and soon afterwards, the pin also falls out of your cap. I've kind of gotten in the habit when I put new ones in, to put a little drop of superglue on the tip of the pin after I've pushed it through the cap, then promptly insert the pin into the pin back gizmo. I haven't lost one since beginning this and if I ever need to take a pin off, they will come off with a bit of wiggling to break that dried superglue lose. File in your FWIW (for what it's worth) department.
