    A friend, who served in the S. Pacific, watched a P-38 unit doing an engine change. They fired it up and found that both engines turned the same way.
    He said that they quick-changed the cam (and a few other components) and it was returned to service. I heard that RAF wanted non counter rotating versions. Until they got them.
