    Design: Ikelos
By: Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, Loughborough University (UK)
Description: A team from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University and Loughborough University, United Kingdom took second place. Their joint effort resulted in “Ikelos,” an aircraft featuring a box-wing design with fans powered by a rotary diesel engine. This uniquely designed aircraft allows pilots to take super-short takeoffs and landings.

This unique design allows to reach super short takes off and landing.
The 24-person the design group consisted of equal number of students from Loughborough Department in aviation and automobile equipment and Virginia Tech's Department space … the group worked as virtual team throughout the most part of the project.

    sense of connection
    airplane + WIG

consists in creating on landing a powerful airbag...

which gradually decreases and smoothly lowers our flying car before contact to a water surface
