Question Army Air Corps P-51 color specs

I am an EAA member, Warbirds of America member and owner of a North American T-6D and Stearman PT-17.

Currently I am building a (Titan) T-51 (3/4 scale P-51) and I am nearing some paint color selection decisions. It is my intention that the primary color for my project be the olive drab green used by the US Army Air Corps during WWII for P-51's. I am requesting some assistance in obtaining the color specifications for the olive drab (or a reliable source to obtain it) as well as a good source to purchase the paint.

    Thanks in advance.

    Best Regards, RJG

I sent an inquiry to a friend of mine who worked on the Warbird Heritage Foundation's P-51 "Baby Duck," which was restored with an olive drab and bare metal scheme. Hopefully I'll have some info for you soon.

Here is what my friend had to say about the colors used on "Baby Duck". They used olive drab ANA 613 and the FS-595a equivalent 34087. A note on the 613 code, it is substantially darker and greener than 34087.

    So it's .75 color scale correct...no???

If anyone has the stones to tell you your Mustangs paint is wrong tell them to go back in time and bring an 1944 'stang here to prove it...

If they do it, find out how, kill them, patent the tech and retire a bazzilionaire...
