Ametek is pretty good... I sent an old US Gauge oil temp gage from my 1941 Taylorcraft to them to fix... the did it for free, with the explanation that "they didn't know what to charge so they wouldn't charge me anything."

Removing the two screws may tell the story. Or, take a small drill bit, insert in hole & gently push. Does the indicator needle move?

No answer from the company at all..... I do not see any actual hole to place a needle? Stumped!

How about taking the screws out of that bottom plate and looking inside? I'd start by loosing the screws and keeping my thumb on the plate to see if there is a spring behind it...no sense having the whole thing fly apart b/4 you can get a good look inside? It certainly looks like some kind of fuel gauge, but maybe for some non-aircraft application? This really has my curiosity up...if you take it apart post pictures or if you are successful with the manufacture let us know what the heck it is!???????
