Thank you EAA for providing a refuge from the heat at Airventure. Living in Calgary, we are not used to 100 degree weather and only the Aviators club provided a respite from the heat. I used it extensively over 3 days venturing out for 30 minutes at a time.

The people there were super friendly, the food was quite good and free swag from Shell Aviation too. But the best part was meeting and chatting with interesting people from around the world. I even met Bob Hoover!

So, a tad expensive, but without it I would have not been able to stay on the grounds.

Notes on a fabulous B&B in "old" Oshkosh, and a most interesting approach and landing sequence from RIPON to FISK to 36 to 27 and a change of plans 10' above the orange dot another day. Not to mention my G1000 HDG indicator Xing out moments before a planned departure.

All in all a great adventure to Airventure.
